The Founding of Little Village Lawndale High School

On May 13th, 2001 fourteen community residents of Little Village neighborhood staged a 19-day hunger strike demanding the construction of a new high school. Almost four years later the Little Village Lawndale High School Campus opened its doors for four hundred students in the fall of 2005.

Since then, our athletic department has expanded as well; Little Village Lawndale participates in 12 different sports, offering students a chance to play on over 24 different teams – truly impressive for a school that began only 4 years ago!

There are a number of parents, educators, community advocates, and even students to thank for the hard work, continuous struggle, and ongoing dedication to make this dream a reality. Our campus will work to honor the struggle it was born from and our student-athletes study, practice and compete with the same degree of hard work, effort and dedication!!

Girls Basketball defeats UpLift in season opener 35-27
Boys Varsity Soccer Team WINS REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!
The LVLHS Boys Varsity Soccer team played their hearts out on Saturday, Oct 25 against Riverside-Brookfield HS in the Regional Finals, winning in penalty kicks after 4 10-minute rounds of overtime.
LVLHS Varsity Phoenix Football Clinches City Divisional Championship
On Friday night, the Phoenix capped off their most successful season to date with a victory over Collins high school 16 - 6. Earlier in the season Collins had bested the Phoenix 8-0. This victory gives the school its first football divisional city championship and ensures the team to move up into state football playoff qualifying position next year.

The boys varsity football team beat Walter Payton to advance in the city playoffs 36-8.
Boy's Varsity Soccer Makes Quarterfinals!!!!
The boy's varsity soccer team beat Carver Military Academy Thursday 6-2 to move on in the City Championship series.

Applicants should have coaching experience and experience working at an urban high school. The applicant should have a bachelor's degree, and either be a certified teacher or be ASEP certified.
